PLANT CITY - The Greater Plant City Chamber of Commerce will welcome new teachers Aug. 19 with breakfast and gifts from local businesses.

The chamber has sponsored the new teacher coffee for more than 15 years. The event typically attracts 200 to 250 teachers and administrators who are new to Plant City-area schools.

Each school gives introductions at the breakfast, and each teacher gets a goodie bag filled with gifts from local businesses. One teacher from each school wins a door prize. The chamber is seeking businesses to donate cash, door prizes or items for the goodie bags.
